Flowers and Plants in Peppa Pig World

Thursday 21st August 2014 - General

Take a look at some of the spectacular colours and flowers in Peppa Pig World in this special guest blog post from Charly - mummy and award winning photographer of the PODcast lifestyle and parenting blog.

"We recently visited Peppa Pig World at Paulton’s Park with our three and a half year old daughter Poppy. It was the first time we’d been and it truly surpassed our expectations. We had a wonderful day out. Poppy was thrilled to meet Peppa and all her friends.

What surprised us most about our visit is how beautiful it is. Just near the entrance for example is John’s Garden - a wonderful space created in memory of John Mancey who founded the park. His vision to adopt a country park feel to a family park has certainly been realised.

The impressive Victorian Garden showcases some outstanding topiary that complements the new double-decker carousel perfectly. There's an amazing garden scene that features a horse and carriage, a chimney sweep and a Penny Farthing. The level of detail is just incredible. Other life-sized figures include a weightlifter, a photographer, a juggler and a leaping lion with its tamer to name just a few.

The landscape in Peppa Pig World enhances the surroundings beautifully. With the child in us in mind, there are hills and wonderful displays to be seen that just pop with colour wherever you look. Well placed trees, hedges and shrubs have been cleverly planted too creating a magical world for everyone to enjoy. It's a welcoming environment and somehow you feel like you belong in Peppa's family.

Outside Madam Gazelle’s School House is just one of several rainbow like displays. This one adopting a fabulous purple, yellow and pink theme. Giant co-ordinating blocks with brightly coloured letters are topped off with impressive topiary flowers and spirals. Poppy is starting to recognise letters so she particularly enjoyed this space - especially after spotting G is for girl! Other displays around Peppa Pig World include welcoming bursts of red, pink and orange and yellow. If you look carefully you'll also see the Peppa Pig family made completely from ivy. There are other characters too, in the beds, waiting to surprise you!

Specific attention has been paid to the rides. Each has been designed to enhance the visitor experience with displays tailored accordingly. Grandpa Pig's train ride is lined with lollipop-like topiary trees, my view of it framed with lavender. The design of Miss Rabbit's Helicopter Ride gives the impression you've arrived at her home. Miss Rabbit is surrounded by a topiary archway with bright yellow blooms beneath. It is an exquisite sight – probably my favourite.

At Daddy Pig’s Car Ride, the platform is adjourned with beautiful flowers providing an idyllic setting. Once on the ride, the floral displays are in tyres so they’re in keeping with the driving theme. Even parts of the track are lined with brightly coloured blooms. Well placed trees and shrubs make the ride more exciting as it's not always clear what's around the next corner. The element of surprise is always a plus in our household.

George’s Dinosaur Adventure Ride showcases some of the family in topiary form. Shrubs and flowers in the beds providing a superb hiding place for some of Peppa's friends - Poppy was delighted to see them. As with the rest of the park, boxed displays are situated throughout. The beds have been beautifully crafted around the ride in such a way, it makes for a great experience. And that’s before you see the volcanoes!

We were really impressed with how creative the flower and plant displays were at Peppa Pig World. They provide the ideal extension to the incredible gardens located just a stone’s throw away. Visitors to Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World may not have gardens top of mind when they plan their trip. If this is the case they will come as a lovely surprise. The thought and care that has gone into their display are a beautiful addition to what is an excellent family day out."
