Following the recent announcement that employment has reached its highest level since 1971 and that unemployment has not fallen over the past year among over-50s, Hampshire-based Paultons Park has launched its latest recruitment drive and is searching to fill up to 100 positions for the 2016 season.
With 10 per cent of its workforce currently over 50, the theme park is encouraging further candidates within this age category to apply alongside people of all other ages for one of four roles. Paultons Park is looking to bring in new people in preparation for its 2016 season which starts on February 14.
Roles available within the family theme park include catering assistants, ride operators, retail assistants, security guards and front-of house guest welcoming advisors.
Stephen Lorton, commercial director at Paultons Park, says: “As a theme park, it’s a common misconception that the employment we offer is more suitable for a younger audience. This certainly is not the case and many of our team over 50 have been with us for numerous years. We are always looking for vibrant people of any age who can help us to deliver a first-class experience to our Park visitors.”
He adds: “With a new attraction being added to the Park this year, it is an exciting time to join our team.”
Set within 140 acres of parkland, Paultons Park features more than 60 rides and attractions including rollercoasters; EDGE, Cobra and Magma, the Raging River Ride and a 4D Show Street Cinema. It’s also home to the world’s first and UK exclusive Peppa Pig World and Critter Creek, a themed world of strange mixed-up creatures known as the ‘curious critters’.
