With its expressive face, large eyes, and distinctive tail, it is among the most recognizable of lemurs. These animals are social, typically forming groups called troops, and are primarily diurnal, meaning they are active during the day. They primarily feed on fruits, leaves, and small insects. Due to habitat loss and hunting, the ring-tailed lemur is currently classified as endangered.
