The storks migrate north each year to make use of the spring rains. This annual arrival has earned them the name of rain bringers in regions that depend on the rain for their crops. Superstition says that they should remain undisturbed while there.
Habitat
Eastern and Southern Africa in open grasslands, usually near water.
Diet
They feed on locusts and caterpillars along with small reptiles, amphibians, mice and crabs.
