Trumpeters are weak flyers but are swift runners if needing to escape from predators. They roost and nest in trees up to a height of 6 to 8 metres. They get their name from the low humming song they produce, along with a loud honking call.

South American rainforests.
Diet
Omnivorous: Fruits, insects, and small vertebrates such as snakes.
