The Crested Pigeon is a social bird, feeding in small to large groups which also congregate to drink at waterholes. If startled it takes off with a whistling sound produced by air passing over the wings.

Natural Habitat

The Crested Pigeon is native to Australia and is common throughout most of the mainland. It is found in lightly wooded grasslands in both urban and rural areas.

Seeds, crops, weeds and insects.
