Buffalo Falls Ride Accessibility Guide

Access to the Ride

Main access route:

Access is via the entrance. There are 55 steps to negotiate to reach the slides. This is the only route to gain access to the slides.

Queue Assist/Access route for guests in wheelchairs:

Please contact the ride photography kiosk.  Queue Assist guests will have to wait to be granted access, but we will try and keep this waiting time as short as possible.  There is no alternative accessible entrance or route up to the slides.

Due to the nature of this ride, access to Queue Assist users may be limited or unavailable at certain times.

Requirements for All Passengers

Cognitive Requirements:

All passengers must be able to perceive the concepts of risk and danger, and understand that, for their own safety, they must remain seated and hold on to the handles at all times whilst using the ride. If there is any doubt as to a passenger’s cognitive ability, then for their own safety they must be accompanied by a responsible adult, or must not use this ride. Please note that this judgement must be the responsibility of the individual passenger, parent or carer, as it is impossible for our Operators to assess an individual’s cognitive abilities.

Restraint type:

There is no form of passenger restraint on this ride. To ensure their own safety passengers must be able to remain seated and hold on to the handles on the dinghy with both hands at all times, whilst bracing with their legs.

Passenger Requirements:

All passengers must be at least 0.9m tall to ride. Children under 7 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Maximum load per dinghy is 150kg. Maximum 2 people per dinghy. No more than 1 adult per dinghy. Taller passenger must sit in the rear of the dinghy, smaller passenger in the front.

1 adult can accompany 1 child who does not meet the requirement to ride alone, seated in the same boat, with the child in front.

All passengers should be in good general health and free from heart, back, neck or other conditions which may be aggravated by this ride. This ride is not recommended for people with high blood pressure or who have had recent surgery. Pregnant women are advised not to use this ride due to the nature of the ride and the forces it generates. Guests who experience vertigo or Meniere’s disease are advised not to ride. Passengers must be able to bend their legs at their hips and knees. Plaster casts/medical boots are not permitted.

Magnetic Fields:

Strong magnetic fields are not present on this ride.

Other Physical Safety Requirements:

All passengers must possess full body control and be able to sit upright and hold their head up unaided. Passengers require good vision to be able to prepare to brace themselves.

Passengers must be able to withstand sudden changes of direction and onset of G-forces. All passengers must be able to grip the handles with both functioning hands to brace against the ride forces.

Passengers must be able to brace against the forces of the ride with at least one functioning leg. Leg prosthetics may be worn provided they have no sharp points or edges.

If Evacuation is Necessary:

In the unlikely event that evacuation is necessary, guests must be able to understand and be able to follow our instructions. If a dinghy stops on the slide, guests must be able to remain seated and understand and follow the Operator’s instructions.
