Boulder Dash Ride Accessibility Guide

Access to the Ride

Main access route:

Access is via a lengthy queue line to the platform. There are no steps to negotiate.

Queue Assist/Access route for guests in wheelchairs:

The Queue Assist entrance is via the exit gate. Await Operator’s instructions before proceeding through the gate. Wheelchairs may be taken to the cars to assist in boarding and alighting. Guests with mobility issues may find it challenging to transfer into the ride cars due to the large stepover.

Requirements for All Passengers

Cognitive Requirements:

All passengers must be able to perceive the concepts of risk and danger, and understand that, for their own safety, they must remain seated at all times whilst using the ride. If there is any doubt as to a passenger’s cognitive ability, then for their own safety they must be accompanied by a responsible adult, or must not use this ride. Please note that this judgement must be the responsibility of the individual passenger, parent or carer, as it is impossible for our Operators to assess an individual’s cognitive abilities.

Restraint type:

Passengers are secured by an individual seat belt. To ensure their own safety all passengers must be able to remain seated and hold on with 1 functioning hand, at all times.

Passenger Requirements:

Children under 12 months are not permitted to ride. Children under 1.2 metres in height or under 8 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult. No more than 4 people per car (maximum of 2 adults per car).  1 adult can accompany up to 3 children who do not meet the requirement to ride alone, seated in the same gondola car.

Please note that the seating areas within these cars are not generously sized, so larger and taller adults may find the seats too snug for comfort.

All passengers should be in good general health and free from heart, back, neck or other conditions which may be aggravated by this ride. This ride is not recommended for people with high blood pressure or who have had recent surgery. Pregnant women are advised not to use this ride due to the ride forces and presence of the seat belt. Passengers must be able to bend their legs at their hips and knees. Plaster casts/medical boots may be permitted – please check with the Operator.

Magnetic Fields:

Strong magnetic fields are not present on this ride.

Lower leg prosthetics may be worn providing they are in contact with the car floor.
