Access to the Ride

Main access route:

Access is via the entrance. There are 7 steps to negotiate up to the ride platform.

Queue Assist/Access route for guests in wheelchairs:

The Queue Assist and wheelchair entrance is via the ramp and exit gate. Await Operator’s instructions from the bottom of the exit ramp. Wheelchairs may be taken to the gondola to assist in boarding and alighting. There is level access into the gondola.

 

Requirements for All Passengers

Cognitive Requirements:

All passengers must be able to perceive the concepts of risk and danger, and understand that, for their own safety, they must remain seated at all times whilst using the ride. If there is any doubt as to a passenger’s cognitive ability, then for their own safety they must be accompanied by a responsible adult, or must not use this ride. Please note that this judgement must be the responsibility of the individual passenger, parent or carer, as it is impossible for our Operators to assess an individual’s cognitive abilities.

Restraint type:

There is no form of passenger restraint on this ride, but the gondola door will be secured from outside. To ensure their own safety all passengers must be able to remain seated at all times.

Passenger Requirements:

There is no minimum height restriction for this ride, but we do advise that it is unsuitable for children under 12 months old. Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult. No more than 4 people per gondola. 1 adult can accompany up to 3 children who do not meet the requirement to ride alone, in the same helicopter.  Each passenger must occupy their own individual seat.  Babies can be held in arms on this ride. 

All passengers should be in good general health and free from heart, back, neck or other conditions which may be aggravated by this ride. This ride is not recommended for people with high blood pressure or who have had recent surgery. Pregnant women are advised not to use this ride due to the nature of the ride. Guests who experience vertigo or Meniere’s disease are advised not to ride.  Passengers must be able to bend their legs at their hips and knees. Plaster casts/medical boots may be permitted – please check with the Operator.

Magnetic Fields:

Magnetic fields are present on this ride. Guests fitted with a pacemaker should seek medical advice.

 

Additional Information for Guests with Disabilities, Missing Limbs/Amputations or Neurodiversity

We respectfully request our guests with disabilities, amputations or neurodiversity, or those people caring for them, to consider the additional information below in deciding whether this ride will be suitable for themselves or those under their care.

Other Physical Safety Requirements:

All passengers must possess good upper body control and must be able to sit upright unaided in their own seat and be able to hold on or brace with 1 functioning limb.

Lower leg and secure arm prosthetics may be worn.

If Evacuation is Necessary:

In the unlikely event that evacuation is necessary, guests must be able to understand and be able to follow our instructions. If evacuation is necessary, guests may have to wait in excess of 20 minutes until their gondola can be returned to ground level. Evacuations can be prolonged events to ensure the safety of everyone involved, and we kindly ask for everyone’s patience and understanding during this process.
