A group of meerkats is called a mob, gang or a clan. Meerkats exhibit sentinel behaviour. They take it in turns to stand on their hind legs and watch for predators.
Natural Habitat
Southern Africa including Namibia, Botswana and South Africa. Found in grasslands and the Kalahari and Namib deserts.
Diet
Insects, small mammals, eggs, snakes, grubs.
Conservation Status
Least concern.
