Minadao Bleeding-Heart Dove

They get their name from the bright red feathers on their chest that looks like they are bleeding.
The main threats to the Mindanao bleeding-heart dove are deforestation, overhunting for food and capture for the pet trade.
Natural Habitat
They are endemic to the tropical forests of Southern Philippines inhabiting the islands of Basilan, Bohol, Dinagat, Leyte, Mindanao and Samar.
Diet
Their diet consists mainly of seeds, fruits and insects found on the forest floor.
