Super Circuits

Build the circuit to control our K’Nex Sky Swingers. Matched to the National Curriculum for Yr 4 and Yr 6, students get the chance to explore series circuits using switches, lights and motors. We work systematically to alter the circuit for a brighter bulb or faster ride! By the end of the session, children will have an understanding of voltage, be able to recommend how to speed up a ride, and link elements to their symbols when drawing circuit diagrams.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify and classify electrical symbols
- Use specific terminology around conductors and non-conductors
- Investigate altering circuit layouts
- Construct a simple series electrical circuit
- Use their knowledge to identify differences, similarities or changes
