Tea Cup Ride Ride Accessibility Guide

Access to the Ride

Main access route:

Access is via the main queue line. There are no steps to negotiate.

Queue Assist/Access route for guests in wheelchairs:

The Queue Assist entrance is via the exit gate. Await Operator’s instructions before proceeding through the gate. There is level access to the ride and wheelchairs may be taken to the cups to assist in boarding and alighting. There is 1 step up and a high step-over to board the Tea Cups. Please be aware that the Tea Cups are free to rotate during boarding and alighting.

 

Requirements for All Passengers

Cognitive Requirements:

All passengers must be able to perceive the concepts of risk and danger, and understand that, for their own safety, they must remain seated at all times whilst using the ride. If there is any doubt as to a passenger’s cognitive ability, then for their own safety they must be accompanied by a responsible adult, or must not use this ride. Please note that this judgement must be the responsibility of the individual passenger, parent or carer, as it is impossible for our Operators to assess an individual’s cognitive abilities.

Restraint type:

There is no form of passenger restraint, although a chain is placed across the entrance to the Cup. To ensure their own safety all passengers must be able to remain seated and hold on with 1 functioning hand, at all times.

Passenger Requirements:

Children under 0.75 metres are not permitted to ride. Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult.  1 adult can accompany up to 3 children who do not meet the requirement to ride alone, seated on the same cup.

All passengers should be in good general health and free from heart, back, neck or other conditions which may be aggravated by this ride. This ride is not recommended for people with high blood pressure or who have had recent surgery. Pregnant women are advised not to use this ride due to the ride forces. Passengers must be able to bend their legs at their hips and knees. Plaster casts/medical boots may be permitted – please check with the Operator.

Magnetic Fields:

Magnetic fields are present on this ride. Guests fitted with a pacemaker should seek medical advice.

Other Physical Safety Requirements:

All passengers must possess good upper body control and must be able to sit upright unaided and be able to hold on with 1 functioning hand.

Lower leg prosthetics may be worn.

Arm prosthetics may be worn.

If Evacuation is Necessary:

Evacuation Is no cause for concern on this ride as it will come to a stop as normal.
