Science Day – Friday 13th March 2026

To celebrate British Science Week, Science in the Park is a one-day science extravaganza held in March and aimed at KS2. Enjoy a host of complimentary workshops covering physics, biology and chemistry; free activity trails; extra keeper talks and more... all included in your great School Trips rates!
Join us and design your own science day with pre-bookable workshops, extra talks and activity trails included in the price. Workshops are subject to availability and schools will receive their personalised timetable before the event. Activity booklets will be provided for each student and are available for collection on the day. Please note that all workshops are subject to availability and some may be shared with another school.
-
Rollercoaster Forces (30 minutes)
Join us as we explore how forces affect our rides. We cover gravity, air-resistance and friction whilst putting these forces into a theme park context.
-
Owl Investigator (40 minutes)
Take on the ‘yucky’ role of animal investigator and dissect a real owl pellet. We will look at eating habits for our owls and work out what they have been eating by extracting real bones from the pellets. This investigation will look closely at food chains and skeletons. Non-latex gloves will be provided.
-
Science Explorer (20 minutes)
Step into the Science Lab and use our mechanical models in a round robin of activities. Interactive use of the modes will engage the children in the science of gears, pulleys, levers, momentum and speed.
-
More workshops to be added soon!
All workshops are subject to availability and may be altered
